The Nuts and Bolts
Warm-up and Cool-down
Dynamic movements to get blood flowing and stretches to aid recovery.

Frequently Asked
Questions
How did this idea come about?
This class manifested after I suffered an ankle sprain which made me question how I was moving around the court. As a certified yoga instructor, who has experience with resistance training, I knew a conditioning class would help improve movement patterns to benefit not only my game, but also my overall fitness.
What will we do in the class?
We will learn an effective warm-up and cool-down, practice movement patterns specific to pickleball, engage in exercises that promote fast reflexes, and perform mobility/resistance training. Modifications are given and challenges offered.
What is the purpose of this class?
By conditioning in this way, we will play more effectively and generally be safer on the court. We will also improve our overall fitness, which will help us remain resilient as we age. Our goal is to keep people engaged in both general fitness AND in the highly social sport that we love.
Why is conditioning important?
Although no one can prevent all injuries from happening, we can greatly improve our safety by learning how to move in safer ways. Also, by training our bodies, we will not only play safer but play more effectively as our endurance and mobility increases. Conditioning can help protect our muscles and joints.
Who will benefit from this class?
Even though the class was designed for the over 50 pickleball player, we feel most everyone can benefit. Due to the venue, the in-person classes are limited to the 50+ population, but the online classes are open to all.
What if I already play well?
Wonderful! We want to help you remain on the court. We are here to help mitigate injuries and to improve all levels of players, from athletic individuals to recent couch potatoes.
